| This is an unofficial list
compiled from public domain sources. It includes existing &
announced ISPs - featuring ISDN and ADSL.
ISDN access has been
eclipsed by high speed access services such as ADSL and cable access services. Wireless access services are also starting to emerge. These
services are now $40/month and give speeds up to 6Mb/sec. Amazing
price/performance improvements in five years.
Blinking ISPs offer
shared ( or dial-up) ISDN access - which requires an inexpensive (
around $400) terminal adapter (TA) . ISDN Internet access generally is
about the same cost as a regular analog connection ($1/hr) .
The majority of ISPs
offer "dedicated" ISDN access - usually for LAN access - where
you need a bridge or a router (>$1000). Dedicated ISDN Internet
access generally costs about $300 per month - including the ISDN line
charge.
